At a lot of shops your piece gets sewn first and settled later. You hear the price at the counter, see the result at pickup, and get a call when it's ready. Here it runs the other way around.
Your price comes first
Prices are posted, or quoted from your photos before your appointment. Anything extra is quoted separately, and nothing is added without your OK.
It's pinned on you
You see the plan in the mirror before anything is cut or sewn. And the person who pins it is the person who sews it, so nothing gets lost in a handoff.
You leave with a date
Tell me when you need it, and you'll know when it's ready before you leave. In 10+ years of bridal work, I've only moved a date when a bride couldn't make a fitting or was sick.
Something you should know first: I'm a home studio, not a storefront. I sew a few days a week and take a limited number of pieces at a time. That's on purpose. It's how each piece gets my full attention, and it's why I can give you a date and keep it.

Hi, I'm Malissia.
I've been sewing for more than 23 years and doing bridal alterations for more than 10.
When I was 7, my mom, my grandma and my great-grandma made sure I learned. Three generations at the machine with me, whether I wanted to be there or not. Growing up, I sewed a lot of my own clothes, including most of my formal dresses.
I didn't really appreciate what they'd given me until I had kids of my own and realized it could be my work. Since then I've fitted more than 100 brides, and for the last two years I've done it from my home studio in the Radiance community in Apache Junction, along with everything from pant hems to custom pieces.
